Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and particularly mediation is vital to every case and is considered for the benefit of each client, by minimising each client’s exposure to contentious risk.

ADR provides our clients with the possibility to settle their dispute on terms that are mutually agreeable, providing our clients with the opportunity to maintain the future relationship between them and the other party.

Any agreements that are reached through ADR are legally enforceable.

 

(A)Corporate Litigation

Corporate litigation is almost always very costly and very damaging to companies. Cyprus companies are increasingly facing issues with: fraud, insolvency, internal disputes and minority oppression. At Vasiliou Law we work closely as legal advisors to all our corporate clients to firstly prevent any commercial disputes and then to aid if and when they arise. Inevitably commercial disputes must be resolved by a Court of Law making the Courts of Cyprus the natural forum for all issues relating to Cyprus companies and their shareholders.

(B) Property Disputes

Property disputes can arise from a wide variety of issues. At Vasiliou Law we deal with litigation that is settled both inside and outside the Cypriot Courts of Justice and rent control courts. We with deal with all cases related to real estate such as : nuisance, trespassing, disputes between landlord/Tenant, disputes over access and property boundaries, restriction of rights and inheritance issues. We also deal with Real estate litigation that will be tried by the District Courts and the Rent Control Courts. It is important to note that civil wrongs litigations have a limitation period of 6 years. In the case of disputes related to tenancy contracts the limitation period in 3 years.
Most property disputes however will eventually be resolved through the Cyprus Arbitration & Mediation Centre and we advise using this vehicle since it almost always offers the most swift solution to property disputes.
